Saving what's good

FarmTheory is a B2B agri-tech startup committed to bridging the gap between buyers and sellers of cosmetically imperfect produce, often left unsold at farms. By creating a seamless farm-to-fork value chain, FarmTheory ensures that freshly harvested, yet visually unappealing, fruits and vegetables find their way to buyers, reducing food waste and supporting farmers.

The project aimed to establish a strong brand identity for FarmTheory and produce high-quality design collaterals that effectively communicate the company's mission. This included selecting appropriate materials and printing techniques to enhance the visual appeal and durability of the collaterals. The goal was to create a cohesive and impactful brand presence that resonates with FarmTheory's target audience and supports their mission of reducing food waste.

My role involved creating artwork, sourcing the right vendors, negotiating the best prices, and ensuring the successful execution of all design collaterals.

Stratergy

To effectively communicate FarmTheory's mission and values, our strategy focused on creating a brand identity that emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and the importance of reducing food waste. We aimed to design visually appealing and durable collaterals that resonate with both buyers and sellers of ugly produce. By selecting appropriate printing techniques and materials for each type of collateral, we ensured that the final products not only looked great but also conveyed the brand's commitment to quality and sustainability. This holistic approach helped us build a cohesive and impactful brand presence for FarmTheory, enhancing its visibility and credibility in the agri-tech industry.

Design Process

We began the design process by developing a clear understanding of FarmTheory's brand values and objectives. After several brainstorming sessions, we created artwork that reflected the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation. We explored various printing techniques such as digital, screen, and UV printing, and experimented with different materials to find the best fit for each type of collateral.

For business cards, we opted for a sturdy cardstock with a matte finish, using UV printing for the logo to make it stand out. For promotional posters and flyers, we chose digital printing for its vibrant colors and quick turnaround time. Screen printing was utilized for t-shirts and tote bags, ensuring durability and a high-quality finish. Throughout the process, I worked closely with vendors to negotiate prices and oversee the production to maintain the highest quality standards.

Outcome

The branding and collateral production for FarmTheory was a success. The design collaterals effectively communicated the brand's mission and values, creating a strong and cohesive visual identity. The use of different printing techniques and materials resulted in high-quality, durable products that impressed both the company and its stakeholders. The project not only enhanced FarmTheory's brand presence but also supported their mission of reducing food waste by promoting the value of ugly produce.
